Survived By: James is survived by his three children James Wesley (Connie) Henderson Jr. of Standish, Harold Jack (Midge) Henderson of Schoolcraft, and Brenda Kay (Ronald) Rousse of Omer; twelve grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.

James Wesley "Bud" Henderson Sr.

 

James Wesley Henderson Sr., 88, of Standish passed away on Monday, May 30th, 2011 after a short stay at MediLodge of Sterling. He was born July 25th, 1922 in Flint, Michigan to John Wesley and Mary Goldie (Burlew) Henderson. As a young boy, he attended Arenac #2 Elementary School, and then went on to graduate from Standish High School in 1940. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy. While in the Navy, he served at home and overseas as a Radioman Third Class and faithfully fought for his country during WWII. On May 11th, 1946, he married Betty Lou Denno in Saginaw, Michigan. After losing his wife of 46 years, on October l5th, 1994 he married Kathleen (Brady) Damoth. He worked at many of the local tool and die shops most of his life as a machinist. He enjoyed gardening, camping, crossword puzzles and reading The Bay City Times.

 

James is survived by his three children James Wesley (Connie) Henderson Jr. of Standish, Harold Jack (Midge) Henderson of Schoolcraft, and Brenda Kay (Ronald) Rousse of Omer; twelve grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wives Betty Lou (Denno) Henderson and Kathleen (Brady) Damoth, his parents John W. and Mary (Goldie) Henderson, two brothers Donald C. and Clark L. Henderson and two sisters Marion P. Fisher and Jane D. LeClair. James was a loving and devoted, husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed.

 

Visitation will be Friday, June 3rd from 12:00 pm until 8:00 pm at R. O. Savage Funeral Chapel in Standish. Funeral services will be held also at R. O. Savage Funeral Chapel in Standish on Saturday, June 4th at 11:00 am with Deacon L. Dan French of Gladwin Community of Christ Church officiating. Mr. Henderson's final resting place will be in Woodmere Cemetery in Standish.
