Sisson, Melvin Merl

Port Charlotte, Florida formerly of Saginaw, MI

          Passed away on Monday, June 6, 2011 at the age of 83 years.          

          The son of the late Garl M. and Martha (DeJean) Sisson was born on December 20, 1927 in Cadillac, Michigan.  He married Lorraine E. Lenz on June 28, 1952, she survives him.  He served in the US Coast Guard and traveled to the north pole and south pole with Admiral Byrd.  He owned an auto parts store in Saginaw.  He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Punta Gorda.  Melvin enjoyed photography, bowling and golfing.

          Surviving besides his wife, Lorraine are his children; David (Janet) Sisson, Dale (Cindy) Sisson, Jane (Paul) Morgerson, his grandchildren; Michael (Katy), Kyle, Megan, Nicole, April, Melissa, his great-grandchildren; Jillian and Jeffery, his sister, Mildred Edgerly and brother Ivan (Billie) Sisson and many nieces and nephews. Melvin was predeceased by his grandson Matthew.

          Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2011 at W.L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd.  Rev. Michael Hahn will officiate with burial at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.  Friends may call at the funeral chapel on Sunday from 2:00-4:00p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a charity of your choice.www.casefuneralhome.com
