Passed away Friday July 8, 2011.  Age 89 years.  Jessie Maude McKinstry was born September 10, 1921 in Rogers City, Michigan to the late Eldoria and Maude (Howe) McKinstry.  She married Fred Colby in 1938.  He predeceased her February 12, 2002.  Jessie enjoyed working with flowers and making Christmas wreaths.  She also enjoyed baking.
Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Carole Colby; six grandchildren, Paul, Jeff, Terri, Greg, Phil, and Fred; four step-grandchildren, Raymond, Cathleen, Christine, and John; and 13 great grandchildren.  Jessie was preceded in death by her son George March 17, 2011.
Funeral and committal service will take place 12 Noon Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at the Reitz Herzberg Funeral Home, 1550 S. Midland Road (S. M-47).  Chaplain Kristi Newsted will officiate.  Burial will take place at Buena Vista Cemetery.  Friends and family are welcome to visit at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 - 7PM, and one hour before the funeral on Wednesday.  Memorial offerings are suggested to Woodland Hospice, 2597 S. Meridian Road, Mt. Pleasant, MI 48858.
