Passed away Saturday, July 9, 2011 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Brandon was born in Saginaw, Michigan December 1, 1992, the son of Catherine Walker (Kalahar) , Saginaw/Novi and Steven (Kathy) Walker, St. Charles. Brandon graduated in June, 2011 from Swan Valley High School where he played varsity football and baseball. He was going to be attending college in the fall at Ferris State University where he planned to major in Criminal Justice. Brandon was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Saginaw and also St. James Catholic Church in Novi. Brandon enjoyed playing hockey, snowmobiling, fishing and hunting with his Grandpa Walker, with whom he had a very special relationship. He volunteered at the Saginaw Children’s Museum and spent time helping kids in the youth football league. He was also volunteering community hours with the Tittabawassee Township Police.
In addition to his parents, Brandon is survived by his maternal grandparents, Tom (Darlene) Kalahar; his paternal grandparents, Gary (Jane) Walker and Charlotte (Tom) Heins; uncles and aunts, Julie Kalahar, Craig (Shari) Kalahar, Karla Kalahar, Troy Walker and Cindy Parish; his girlfriend, Stephanie “Steph” Michelson; a step-brother, Alan Lich, Jr.; a step-sister, Nicole Lich; many cousins, great-uncles, great-aunts and many, many friends. He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Karon (Phillips) Kalahar in 2002 and uncle, Kevin Kalahar in 2010.
The funeral liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Rd., Saginaw. Rev. Fr. David Parsch will officiate. Friends may visit with the family at W. L. Case & Company, 201 N. Miller Rd., Saginaw on Tuesday from 2:00 – 9:00 p.m. where they may join the family for a parish vigil service and at church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to the Swan Valley Athletic Association in Brandon’s memory.
