Affiliations: a member of All Saints Catholic Church, Flint. She was a member of the Polka Hall of Fame, Owosso. Louise was also known as Mrs. Santa Claus.

Louise P. (Mikusek) Bukosky of Flushing, age 88, died Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at her home. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2011 at All Saints Catholic Church. Fr. Anthony Majchrowski will officiate. Burial will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Saturday and 12-4 and 6-9 p.m. Sunday at Rossell Funeral Home. A rosary will be prayed 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Genesys Hospice.

 

Louise was born in Flint, Michigan on September 12, 1922, the daughter of Ludwik and Amelia (Latuszek) Mikusek. She married Steve J. Bukosky on May 11, 1946 at St. Mary's Church, Flint. They had been married 56 years before he preceded her in death on July 29, 2002. Louise has been a member of All Saints Catholic Church. She traveled and Polka danced all over with her friends. She was a member of the Polka Hall of Fame, Owosso. Louise was also known as Mrs. Santa Claus.

 

Surviving are: daughter, Sharon Marsa of Montrose; son, Robert Bukosky of Flushing; four granddaughters, Tina (Eric) Mertz of MA, Lori Ivy of FL, Tammy Bukosky of Flushing, Jennifer Bukosky of Flint; three great-grandchildren, Eric, Kimberly, and Ashley.   She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother; and son, Steven in 1990.
