Survived By: Robert is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth, 3 daughters, Jane (Chris) Mundy of East Tawas, Katherine Becotte of Lenoir, North Carolina, and Patricia (Joseph) Colombo of Whittemore, Michigan; 1 son, Kevin Michael Rogers of Tawas Township; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and many friends.

Achievements: During his 28 years in the Air Force, he was in the Korean War and the Vietnam Conflict.
 

Robert Leo Rogers, of Tawas Township, passed away on Wednesday August 3, 2011 at his home, age 81.  Robert proudly served our country for 28 years in the United States Air Force, retiring honorably in 1975 as an E-8, Senior Master Sergeant.  During his 28 years in the Air Force, he was in the Korean War and the Vietnam Conflict.  After retirement from the military, Robert worked as a local electrician.  He had many interests in life, however, Robert truly loved fishing, lawn work, and running.  He was an active parishioner of the St. Pius X Church in Hale.  Robert also was a giving person, and spent so many countless hours volunteering for the St. Vincent DePaul Society.  He married Elizabeth Rogers on July 15, 1950 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in East Tawas.  Together they celebrated 61 beautiful years of marriage.  Robert is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth, 3 daughters, Jane (Chris) Mundy  of East Tawas, Katherine Becotte of Lenoir, North Carolina, and Patricia (Joseph) Colombo of Whittemore, Michigan; 1 son, Kevin Michael Rogers of Tawas Township; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and many friends. Robert is preceded in death by his son, James, on January 30, 1954; a brother, Richard Rogers on February 16, 2008, and a son in law, Maurice D. Becotte on June 12, 2009.  Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial mass will take place on Tuesday August 9, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the St. Pius X Catholic Church in Hale. His family will welcome friends at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral mass. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Tawas Angelic Care Hospice.  An on line guest registry is available at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.  Funeral arrangements are by the Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City.
