Stanley G. Miller

October 24th, 1942 - May 26th, 2014

Age: 71 years

Passed away Monday, May 26, 2014 at home surrounded by family. Age 71 years. Stanley was born October 24, 1942 in Detroit to Lawrence R. and Anna B. (Profota) Miller. He married Theresa V. Mellentine in Chesaning in 1964. Stanley served his country in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963 being discharged as a Sergeant. He was a member of Mary of the Immaculate Conception and UAW Local 699. Stanley was an avid poker tournament player, deer hunter, loved farming and traveling when he was able. He retired from Saginaw Steering Gear after 30 years in 1993 as a quality inspector and fork-lift truck driver.

 

Stanley loved life. He loved his family more than anything in the world. He loved a good game of cards, his beloved dog, Izzy, his special little fuzzy girl. He has left a mark on the world. It’s truly a better place because he lived. He was blessed with many very special nieces and nephews that he impacted their lives in many ways.

 

Surviving are his wife, Theresa; two sons and two daughters, Luke Michael, Stanley G. II and Jill, Ann Marie and Randy II Good, Stephanie Terza and Michael Maike; a very special nephew Johnny Hartman; ten grandchildren, Randy and Matthew Good, Naomi, Summer, Luke Miller II, Cassity, Abby, Stanley Miller III, Alexis and Kayla Maike; five great-grandchildren, Chloe, Riley, Sunni, Meadow and Walter; three sisters and a brother, Helen Philips, Shirley Richter, Joan Schneider, Larry Miller; many sister and brother-in-laws. He was preceded by his parents and a sister, Clara Smith.

 

Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2014 at Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, 708 Sanderson St., St. Charles. Fr. Ken Yaroch will officiate with cremation to follow. The family will receive visitors at the Kendall Funeral Home, St. Charles on Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Memorials may be made to the USO Charity or MDA.
